Portal 193

Giatisha, Panazia

With a low whine the back hatch of the Hozoku C47 transport slowly opened and came to a rest on the damp coral floor. Water continued to drain down from the side of the ship, remnants of the outside ocean draining away in the now dry docking portal. Beyond the portal the protective dome of Giatisha the vast ocean reign the environment outside of the city.

Onlookers would probably think they noticed something familar about the two men walking down the back ramp of the transport. Aside from the nearly identical workers uniforms they both wore there was something about them that stood out to the unconscious mind. Perhaps they were brothers, if not then they surely shared some family genetics.

“Everything should be set for you here, meet your contact and then get back with us, someone will be back here for you in 3 days.” A Scottish accent encapsulated the words spoke by the man with shoulder length hair as he looked towards the other man.

“Catch you in Sangilo.” The other man responded as he placed a hat over his short cropped hair and turned towards the portal door that lead into the city of Giatisha.

“See ya soon brutha!” another Scottish accent echoed out from inside the ship.

“And watch your back brutha.” Long hair replied as he turned to enter the ship.

“As do you bruthas” The short haired man yelled back before opening the portal door and leaving the docking portal.

The hatch of the Hozoku C47 back into the ship with a clunk that echoed throughout the docking portal as the door sealed and latched.

Climbing into the captains seat the long haired man tapped the control panel bringing the ships readouts into view on the flat screens below the front windshield. Without paying looking he quickly went through various taps that brought the ship to life. Engine readouts popped up as the he tapped the panel and as the engine came to life with a low hum. With a few quick taps the navigation lights illuminated the outside of the ship. Another tap and the communications window popped up on the screen.

“Rory, everything stowed back there?” the long haired man said as he tapped the ships intercom.

“Aye Dougal, all set, get us out of this place.” A Scottish accent responded from the cargo area of the ship.

Dougal tapped the intercom system again, “Control, Hozoku 33 requesting departure”

“Copy that Hozoku, submit clearance codes.” A female controllers voice responded.

“Roger,” he responded and tapped the console again, ”codes sent.”

“Umm one moment please” the controller responded.

Dougal expressed a slight concern at the reply. Normally the codes are authenticated in nanoseconds by the controllers computer. Were they stalling Dougal thought and quickly tapped the screens to pull up some additional systems.

“Sorry about that Captain MacGreggor, what was the nature of your visit?” the controller asked.

“Just dropping off a passenger is all. Should be going through processing right now, came for work.” He responded while scrolling through the active systems wondering if something was going wrong.

After another long pause control responded, “Well come back and stay longer next time, cleared for departure, go in the light.”

“Thank you control” Dougal responded and then clicked off the intercom, “You can take your light with you, I have my own.”
