Seek and ye shall find

Repte complained about going deeper into the complex, and I can’t say that I blame him much. Although what we had found would hold us up for a while, it wasn’t going to help anyone that wasn’t in the cave, and we still had families we wanted to see walking freely.

Going back to the panel there were a number of pipes running in about a dozen different directions, and which one was coming and which one was going was about anyone’s guess.

Repte looked at the spider web of pipes and said, wanna draw straws, or do enee-minee-moe?

Snorting in response I just stared at all the pipes. After a while, I just closed my eyes and stuck my hand out. Stepping forward I said, we follow this one, as my finger touched a pipe.

Following it up, it made several bends then went through the wall with two others. The pipe I wanted was on the right, and reasoned that it should be on the same side on the other side of the wall. Going out we went in that direction, which took us even deeper into the facility, but we couldn’t find a door.

Continuing down the hall, it took a turn to the left. Staring down the hallway we couldn’t see any doors. Continuing down this hall for quite a while something came to me. Looking at Repte I said… What we’re looking for is on the other side of this here wall. Repte looked at me oddly and said, how do you know. Smiling I said easy, No doors, just wall.

Repte wasn’t convinced, then said, And?

And… What ever generator they’re using is going to be on the other side of this wall. Otherwise we should have come across any number of doors by now… They’re limiting access to only the areas where they do maintenance and control. The next door we find should be one of those. I’d imagine that the room that we found all the switches it some kind of routing room.

Repte scratched his head for a couple of moments, then smiled broadly and said, That makes sense. What’re we waitin’ for?

Continuing down the hall, we came to a “T”. Since what I thought was the Generator Room was on our left, we opted to go left… Looking down the other hall we could see a number of doors, some were open, most were closed, but it continued further that our lights shone. Making a mental note, we turned left and kept going.

Guessing that we walked about half the distance that we had going the other way on the other side we came to a huge door, and a large open area…

Smiling at each other we said simultaneously, I think we’ve found it.
