The Armory Door

Posted on December 10, 2007 @ 09:13AM

A heavy steel door separated us from what ever was inside. Reaching for the door, I tried to pull it open, but to no avail. Using both hands and trying to use all my weight was fruitless as well. It didn’t matter what we tried, that door was not going to budge. Knocking away decades of dirt and dust revealed a heavy duty lock that required a very large key to open it. There was also a key pad beside the door that may open it, but without power, that wasn’t much of an option either.

Since Repte and I couldn’t force the door open we decided it would probably be best if we grabbed some more supplies and discuss everything that we found with the others, perhaps they had a better idea on how to get in, or what it was that we were looking at.

Back at the cave everyone seemed much more calm since everyone had a chance to eat, and the patrols were coming by less frequently.

Describing what we had seen in the various rooms, Nikola smacked me in the back of the head.

Now I’m used to getting smacked in the back of the head for doing something not so bright, but I didn’t understand why Nikola would pick this opportunity. She explained that those boxes with the wires hanging out the back were old style computers, most likely Pre-Quake. Then she went on that if we could find some type of power supply or way to turn them on, then perhaps she and Arkon could find out something about this place.

Ok, I felt stupid enough, of course, I never much cared for history in school, I was suddenly glad that at least somebody paid attention in class.
