A DiscoveryPosted on November 20, 2007 @ 10:14AM Repte woke me up for my turn at watch. It was still dark and I couldn’t see or hear any movement close to where we were at. At sunrise, Nikola filled up a couple of jugs of water, and offered me some when she got back. It tasted bitter, but at least it wasn’t going to kill me. Waking up Arkon for his turn at watch, I quietly asked Nikola to keep an eye on him. Shaking Repte awake, I told him that we needed to search deeper in the cave. Repte wanted to know why we had to look deeper. Softly rapping him across the top of the head, I said you want one of those Black Guards or some other jick coming up from behind us? He thought it was wiser to look than to argue with me. The cave almost seemed to transition to a network or series of tunnels. On a regular basis we’d find another tunnel. Most of them ended in a rock collapse. At least nobody was getting to us that way. A couple though went way back, and without some more light we weren’t going to find out on this trip. One of the tunnels opened up into a huge room. There were rows upon rows of boxes stacked on shelves. Some of the boxes had fallen off and broken open, and all of it was covered in dust. It was safe to say that no one had been here in a long time. From the looks of it, I would say a very long time. One of the boxes that had broken open looked like it had a bunch of clothes in it. Picking up a shirt, I flopped it a couple of times and was greeted with a big cloud of dust. The shirt color looked like a vid screen had gone crazy with a bunch of browns, blacks and greens, and on one pocket were the letters USAF. |
