Called out

“Happen to know what is going on around here Opsidian?” PC3 Taileur said as I walked up.

“Popular question this morning,” I responded, “and one that I can not answer as well..”

“Guess I need to run higher up the chain for answers then” she responded with a laugh.

“Well as soon as you find something out Taileur then you better let me know,” I laughingly responded before pausing a few seconds to continue, “Did you call out to me when I was up by the hangar?”

Sandrine cocked her head to the side and looked at me with great intrigue, “No, I didn’t call out to you. I was just standing here thinking about my sister and wondering about what was going on when I saw you walk out of the hangar and then you headed this way.”

Maybe it wasn’t her then I thought.

“You have a sister? Where does she live?” I asked.

Sandrine looked towards the East, her eyes glistening from the tears that welled up.

“She’s in Atlantia.” She whispered.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t know.”

“Your work is to discover your world and then with all your heart give yourself to it.”

“Umm, I don’t follow.” I said.

Looking back at me with a smile on her face Sandrine replied “Sandy, your work is to discover your world and then with all your heart give yourself to it. Something my sister, Corrine, would always say to me. She was, is, a teacher and she stayed in Atlantia for her kids even though she knew something bad was going to happen.”

“I’ve heard that before, Buddha right?” I asked

Sadnrine laughed and responded, “That’s right. For the longest time I thought it was something that Corry had made up, wasn’t until a few years ago that I found out that it was a quote from Buddha.”

“Well Sandy,” I said with a smirk, “hopefully all this undercover stuff going on around here will get us to Atlantia somehow, who knows, but I am guessing we are going to get to do something.”

“Just as long as you don’t scratch my plane.” She said with a smile.

At that moment the wristponders that everyone in the squadron wore beeped in unison.

“Guess that we are going to have some questions answered in a few hours.” Sandrine said as she looked up from her wristponder.

“I would have to agree,” I replied, “I need to go talk with Chief Corbett so I will see you later.”

“Okay, he should be in the Plane Captain shack. Catch you later.” Sandrine responded before climbing up the latter on the side of the FX-80.
