The sun rises on a new day

Posted on December 14, 2007 @ 07:59PM

The night started to fade away as spears of light shot up from the horizon turning the dark sky into rosy reddish orange color. The bright orange fiery ball of life spilled over the horizon to great the world with its warm rays that chased away the chill of the dark.

Sandrine Taileur walked around her FX-80 Lightning as the sun rose higher in the sky and bathed the flight line in its warmth. The beauty of the morning did not reflect on her as she walked around the aircraft deep in though. Sandrine stopped as her hand glided slowly over the words painted on the nose wheel doors of the aircraft, “PC3 Sandrine Taileur, Atlantia”.

The tears filled her eyes while she looked at the words Atlantia.

Today was the day she was supposed to go on leave to visit her sister in Atland City, with the dome surrounding Atlantia it wasn’t going to happen.

The two of them had grown up in the center of Atland City with their grandmother after a hovercraft accident had claimed the life of their parents. 4 years ago their grandmother passed away and the two girls continued on there own in Atland City.

Corrine Taileur worked with young children who were just starting primary school, she wasn’t a full time teacher yet but she was working on it. Sandrine took a different path however and joined the Politia.

The separation did not separate the girls however, they talked daily through the Vybernet. Corrine shared vid feeds of the games that they used to watch in the sports stadium across from there loft. Sandrine shared photos and vids of the flight operations that went on at PAB Voris.

The last message Sandrine received was a rushed voice message from her sister, “Sandy, there are Peacekeeper hover tanks everywhere outside. I’m going to get try and get the children to safety and I will contact you later. I love you little sister.”

She received nothing else since then and with the dome up she couldn’t contact Corrine.

Refocusing her emotions she looked back at the hangar, something was happening. The hangar had a group of what looked like Politia special militia on guard in various locations, that had arrived with the transport last night.

“Here comes Kalop, maybe he’ll know something about what is going on.” She thought as she noticed Ensign Tennis Kalop walking down the flight line towards her.
