Captain Kagawa Yu

Captain Kagawa Yu walked toward the hangar with her BioTac helmet under her arm.

Kagawa had large orange eyes that matched her short orange hair. She is a small women with a thin, high cheekboned face. Her skin was pale, mostly covered with orange fur that had yellow ends. Two round feline ears protruded from the sides of her head. There was no denying that she was a splicer.

Early in her career, being a splicer and flying wasn’t something that was normally heard of. Not that the Corporations prohibited it, it was just something that didn’t happen often, most splicer’s never passed training. Kagawa was on of the few that did make it since no one could ignore the raw skill that she had in the cockpit thanks to U.G.

The first time she stepped into the simulator marked her path in life. Barely tall enough to meet the qualifications as a pilot nobody that was observing the delicate, shy, little placer had any indication of what was to come next. The instructor readied the program as the simulator started up. A no win simulation had been picked and everyone watching the vid screen made bets as to how long she would survive. The vid screens showed the 10 bogies closing in from all angles towards Kagawa’s lone ship.

The simulator opened 15 minutes and 10 destroyed bogies later, an exhausted Kagawa stepped out to a quite room filled with people in disbelief. “So, how did I do?” she asked?

Kagawa earned her call sign soon after that when ever she stepped into the simulator for combat exercise. Whenever she would step into the simulator the instructors would always jokingly say, “Watch the vid screens everyone, the fire is about to fly.”

Soon, everyone was calling her Firefly.

As she walked towards the hangar she looked to the right at her Executive Officer, Colonel Galen “Vapor” Knight.

“Did we look that young at the begining?” she asked.

“Well, maybe you, but I’ve always been this tough looking.” Vapor laughed.

“Keep dreaming there Vapor.” She laughed back. “Well guess we better get the introductions going, I want them in sheild training and ready for a flight tomorrow.”

“Yes ma’am!”
