As LCDR Blackburn turned around to see who the Captain was referring to, I stepped out of the corner. Pita let out a quick gasp as she stumbled backwards several steps, and bumped into the CAPT Yu.

Quickly recovering from a moment of shock, LT Delaney started laughing.

Gathering herself, she shot LT Delaney a dark look, then looking at CAPT Yu, in a quiet voice asked, “This is some sort of bad joke right?”

CAPT Yu’s face split into a wide grin as she shook her head. Chuckling, she said, “No, Pita, this is not a joke. OPALMOX comes highly recommended, and I’ve been told that it would be in my best interest to accept him into the squadron.” Picking up my records she handed them to LCDR Blackburn as she continued, “As I understand it, he’s a competent pilot, and his abilities of interpretive and speculative analysis are reportedly excellent.”

Walking back around her desk and taking a seat, she looked back and forth between LT Delaney and LCDR Blackburn, then somberly said, “Pita, Stitch… This is serious; we’ve got orders to mobilize the squadron. In a nutshell, we’re to provide air-cover for air and ground forces as we move into Air Field Rimmar, then we’re to stage the squadron and prep to retake Atlantia. I’m not entirely happy about the situation and the circumstances, but we all have a job to do, and right now I need to know what we’re looking at.”

Focusing on LT Delaney she said, “Stitch, when OPALMOX manages to come up with a bird, run him through the wringer, in the mean time, use the sims as you see fit. I’m not going to put him up in one of my planes, but there may come a time where we may not have a choice, so we’d better know what his capabilities are.”

Turning to LCDR Blackburn she continued, “Pita, you’re job is to get him spun up on procedure and protocol, in addition to that, start him on the vids, geomaps, and check out the live feeds, find what you can on AF Rimmar, have him figure out potential threats and problems we may have in taking and keeping that facility, as well as the surrounding area. You’ve got five days to come up with and brief me on a plan. Also I want a presentation on any additional information that you can come up with that we may need to know.”

Narrowing her eyes on me she said flatly, “And if either of you pick up on anything seditious from him, you’ve my full permission to cut him in half, then report what happened.”
