Topic: Questor Challenges / Sangelino Gnorb Well its just like Talisen’s and Opsidian’s dilemma. Its probably a bug (glitch) that occurs randomly in Questor accounts. That’s my guess. They’ll fix it eventually. In the mean time, inform them about your problem via the contact link on the bottom of the page. If they get enough complaints about it, they’ll fix it in no time. Here’s a real simple test to tell if you can completely solve the Gnorb. When you first create your account or whenever you are going to tackle your unsolved Gnorb, hold your cursor over each node. Each node should expand and contract repeatedly as your cursor hovers over it. If one node doesn’t expand, for most people its been the one in the left middle portion, then you cannot completely solve the Gnorb. You could always create a new Questor account and set your display name to your old one, but first you’d need to change your current display name. Just a thought. |

Topic: Questor Challenges / Sangelino Gnorb Well I tried setting the resolution to 600×800, and even zoomed in from there, and still can’t get the last node to open up. I’m not sure what the problem is, but it’s frustrating none the less. From the sounds of it, I’m not the only one in this situation. I hope that they come up with a fix before too long for it. Yes, it’s only 10 points, but it’s the sense of accomplishment and finishing the challenge is what I would like to achieve. In the mean time, I’ll wait. And yes, I’ve tried on a couple of different computers. |

Topic: Questor Challenges / Sangelino Gnorb Well that just sucks. It’s something to be fixed in the near future. I wonder if we get to solve the other 3 Gnorbs. A gene splicing game would be cool for the thousands of splicing combinations. |

Topic: Questor Challenges / Sangelino Gnorb Sure do, multiple computer, multiple OS’s, all lead to the same outcome. I actually gave up on it a month or so ago. Answered everything else so really didn’t expect much from it but another 10xp. Just spent the time writing instead of screwing around with it. |

Topic: Questor Challenges / Sangelino Gnorb Ah…If you still have problems with node access on the gnorb, try setting your screen resolution to 800×600 or 640×400 (I think that’s the corresponding #). The nodes are easier to reach on a lower resolution. |

Topic: Questor Challenges / Sangelino Gnorb A lot of information can actually be found in the first chapter, which I believe is still available on this site. Other parts can be found by looking some of the old forums and some of the additional information that can be found on the site. I solve about half of the gnorb before my book arrived. |

Topic: Questor Challenges / Sangelino Gnorb The book is necessary in order to solve the Gnorb, unless you possess an eidetic or photographic memory. You’ll gain the information that you need from reading. |

Topic: Questor Challenges / Sangelino Gnorb Ok…I experimented with my friend’s Questor account, since he hasn’t solved the Gnorb. The most east node (right) has to be opened by dragging the cursor to the outer right side of the gnorb. The node one left and one down from the most east node has to be opened by dragging your cursor down towards the node below it. The southwestern node which I’m assuming is the most left node is opened the same way as the most right one. Other nodes in the southwest quadrant are clickable by first chance or opened by dragging the cursor towards the nearest nodes around it. Try to solve all the nodes you can click on first before tackling the stubborn ones. I discovered one of the top, right, and left nodes cannot be opened until you solve majority of the node which is about 7-9. They may open if you solve different ones. As for an order, I solved the middle portion first before tackling the surrounding ones. Hope that helps ya’ll. May you walk in the light. For knowledge is power and the key to the human mind. |

Topic: Questor Challenges / Sangelino Gnorb LOL of course I am Mox, or do we have to routinely address who we’re talking to? That would be a great idea to include stories and sorts in the newsletter. Like I said the site is still growing, so there’s room for improvement and much to look forward too. Right now I think the problem is the lack of interesting activities on the site. Like Direhoof said from the game topic, people love eye candy. If contests are held for stories and such, thats another way to encourage people to post. Not much people have read The Vision Quest yet anyway. A random poll I conducted on a site says about 24% have heard of Deborah Pratt, but 1% read her book. Only scifi readers access those polls, so its hard to base population wise. How to get people to post is one of the problems on many sites. It just depends on the topics and the community. What we have is a bunch of shy nobodies. LoL |

Topic: Questor Challenges / Sangelino Gnorb LOL… You talkin’ ta me? ;) Actually I try to encourage people to post… Seems that at a minimum with the Top 50 List, more people are starting to post again. Some even entered their Bios… But in the end it’s up to them. Sadly, there are a number of Questors that actually have a score of 0. Those people I would love to encourage to at least explore the site. But if their score is 0, they haven’t even logged in since they made the account. One thing that I’d like to see that might help encourage folks to post blogs and/or forum notes would be the ability to submit news stories for the news letter, and start putting that out on a quarterly or monthly basis, then e-mail those out to the e-mail address that they listed the account with. Just a random thought. |

Topic: Questor Challenges / Sangelino Gnorb Yea, but remember this site is still growing. There will come a time in the near future, where obscene topics and remarks will appear. Everything in this world has a beautiful beginning, then gets corrupted in the end. Such is life. Not much people post anyway. Out of the 500 of us only 30 or so have posted. There are only a few with more than one posting. I would like to see it to the day when more Questors are taking part in our online community. So far there’s not much to do, but later on there will. The people who are in the forum the most should be considered moderators at some point, since they influence/control the conversations. |

Topic: Questor Challenges / Sangelino Gnorb I have an odd fealing that there are some folks that read the forums and blogs, and although no one has been assigned as a moderator, I’m sure that it’s something that they may be looking at. Reading over some of the older forum postings it seems that some of the questions are different now than they were when they first made the gnorb available. Only time will tell. Of course as much as some of us are on this site, I’m sure that they could get a volunteer to be a forum monitor if they asked. The nice thing though that we have been fortunate enough that a monitor hasn’t been required. |

Topic: Questor Challenges / Sangelino Gnorb I had a similar experience, where certain nodes wouldn’t solve unless other ones were solved first. It could be sequential, but its hard to tell since everyone solves the gnorb in different manners. If we found a general sequence by asking everyone whos solved the gnorb, then it would be sequential. Well I’m a new Questor going on about a week so I guess just wait and see. If only the designer of the gnorb read the forums…then we could get an explanation. |

Topic: Questor Challenges / Sangelino Gnorb I know from previous posts of some of the problems that they were having… But the folks that have posted lately are all newer accounts. It could have something to do with the sequence in which they were solved. I know that it sounds odd, but it’s the only thing that I can think of, especially since the node points are floating. I had some problems when I got started, but those were on the NW quadrant. They were akin to what everyone else was having a problem with, but I solved the bottom and left side first. |

Topic: Questor Challenges / Sangelino Gnorb It’s odd that one node won’t open. I solved the gnorb already with some problems with the nodes. The gnorb has been updated several times. It could be according to the time you became a Questor. The older people’s account could have a bug, while the newer ones don’t. Then again all the gnorbs should be the same. Try updating to the newest version of Shockwave, Adobe flash, and Java. It might work considering this site needs Flash 9 and Shockwave 10. |

Topic: Questor Challenges / Sangelino Gnorb You could try and click furiously while you move your cursor around. When it expands over your cursor you can click it. Try dragging the node around with your cursor. |

Topic: Questor Challenges / Sangelino Gnorb Opsidian and Talisien, seems that we have a common problem. It doesn’t matter how long I hover over it, zoom in, or slowly move it about, I just can’t seem to get that one to open up. |
