Stasis Pool

Posted on September 27, 2008 @ 08:01AM

I needed to relax. Things have been so full on since I arrived at Tosadae. A drug scare, Miro’s kidnapping, Kam’s exhaustion, not to mention the climate of the world. I was finding it a hard time to relax in the age of light.

I needed some time away from the people I associated with. Not because they were causing it, but because they I’d just been too close to them. I’m not saying they were damaged, but they sure as hell weren’t easy to be around all the time. I yearned for the simple life.

Oh U.G, did I just write that?

Anyway, I missed Erebus, I missed just going out and doing my job everyday. I missed working hard beside my family. I guess I just tended to go through these bouts of home-sickness.

I decided to go out into the city around Tosadae, to see if I could find some kind of method of relaxing. Now, don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t going to go find some massage place, or spa, or anything like that. I needed a place, away from the Campus grounds. I walked into the city, and found this place, it looked like a cafe, but there were people playing a game inside.

There were fifteen orbs inside a three-dimensional stasis field with pocket areas around it. People were using some king of telescopic rod to thrust a white orb at the others to knock them into the pockets. There were other rules involved, but it looked like it took skill and concentration. The people playing it called it Stasis Pool, and I had to play it. I asked, and before I knew it I was getting the hang of it. It was all just physics really. I played for hours, I chatted to the other people I learned about them and their backgrounds.

It was just the thing I was looking for.
