Miro's problems

I went to meet Miro again, but she seemed a bit sheepish when she showed up. Grenci was with her, and I asked what was wrong.
“She got assaulted recently,” he said. “She’s kinda shook up. You look after her, alright?”
“Sure,” I said. “How’s the investigation going?”
“Got some leads,” He said. “You heard anything?” I was shocked. “Uhh… No,” I said.
“Why would I?”
“Easy,” he said, “Just kidding.”

Grenci walked off, I guess to go back about his business.

“He sure knows how make a guy squirm,” I said to Miro.
“Oh…” she said meekly, “They’re training him to.”

Turns out Miro had been grabbed after she was leaving the Archaic Library researching her book. She had been taking some self-defense courses, but she seems quite worried.

“This isn’t going to be an isolated incident is it?” I asked Miro after we had sat down at the Nax.
She shook her head.
“Can I do anything?” I asked.
“Don’t think so…” she said.
“Well. I’d like to help, Miro. You know if you need me I’ll be here,” I said, trying to comfort her as best I could.
“Thank you Derf,” she said. “I’m having trouble trusting people right now. We’ll work on it.”

We left after that. Miro seems so… guarded. Back at Erebus, we kind of had to trust each other. I still feel like sometimes I have trouble figuring out how to behave around the people here at Tosadae. It’s such a large community, filled with people all over the world. I’ll do my best to break through Miro’s shell.
