Starting Flight Class

So now that I had aced the Equivalence Exam, I was allowed to join the simulated flight class. This was great, because it meant I would now be able to credit something I loved to my degree at Tosadae.

The problem was, the class actually seemed a little mundane after everything Kam and I had been through. I didn’t care though, within a few days at the class I was asked to help Kam advise some of the other students.

I hoped people don’t get offended that some “farmboy” who hadn’t even been in class as long as they had was asked to help them, but unlike Nkiru, they all seemed interested in doing the best they could.

After a few weeks, Kam asked me how it was going.
“It’s a little slow, I told him, but I’m just happy to be there.” I told him.
“Yeah, well now you know how I’ve been feeling pretty much since I got there.” he said.
“It will be alright next year, though,” I replied, “We’ll have new challenges.”
“Actually Derf, I don’t think we’ll get new challenges until we’re in real FX-80 Fighters.”
“Well, maybe we’ll get there sooner if we keep at it.” I said. “There must be some kind of testing opportunities to arise if we keep our ears to the ground.”
“UG Derf, that’s brilliant.” he said, “I’ll catch up with you later!” and hurried off.

Something tells me he’s up to something.
