A lead for Grenci.

Posted on July 05, 2008 @ 05:25AM

I got off the phone from a meeting to Grenci. He had told me a bad strain of splintron had been released in Tosadae, and wanted me to keep an eye out for any odd happenings in the Zero-G community. Then he told me off for telling the team why I had returned to Crizettes. By the end of the next day, he wouldd realize he had no cause for alarm. I told my team, the Stormers, to keep an eye out too, and I didn’t regret it.

The next morning I was suiting up for some solo crizettes practice, when Jene burst into the locker room. “Nkiru, come with me, you gotta see this!” she exclaimed.
“I was about to practice riding my Archeop,” I told her. “I hope nothing is wrong.”
“I’m not sure,” she said. “But I was just watching some of the Zoccair teams warm up, and some of the players don’t look right.”
I changed back into my normal gear and we went to the Zoccair field.
“There,” Jene said, and motioned to one of the boys on the pitch. He was quick, and seemed to be able to execute some tricky moves, while making it look relatively easy. I looked closely at him, and he appeared to patchy spots of leopard rosettes on his arms and neck. It looked like he was trying to hide them with a slightly larger uniform, and some strategically placed bandannas.
“Are you sure they’re not just some kind of tattoo, or body art?” I asked.
“Oh yeah, positive.” said Jene. “I was here, um… checking out that boy there, she pointed to one of the members of the other team.”
“Cole Lazerman?” I asked, surprised. “The boy who saved the Atlantia transport?”
“Shhhh!” she said. “Yes. He’s hot, ok? Give me a break. Anyway, I was looking at some of the others too, and that guy there, Josh Ackimene, did NOT have those spots yesterday. He was wearing a lot less then, almost showing off. Now he looks like he’s trying to completely cover up.”
“Do you think he’s using splintron?” I asked. “Yes. Totally,” she said. “You should call Grenci ASAP.” I assured her I would, and got in touch with Grenci.
“I’ll bring him in for questioning.” Grenci told me.

I hope this helps. As soon as Tosadae is back to normal, I’ll breathe a huge sigh of relief.
