A conversation with Kam

A while after I had went to the Zero-G Sports Commission, I met with Kam at the Nax to catch up.

I filled him in about what had happened. After I had talked to the commissioner, he had the rest of the Tosadae Raiders brought before a committee to decide what would happen to them. A raid of their dorms and lockers provided all of the evidence they needed to prove they had been using the illegal drug Splintron. The interesting thing is that they refused to give up where they had got it from. They almost seemed… afraid to reveal their source. This probably made things worse for them though, Tosadae takes drug use very seriously, and Jackson, Raiphe, Michonne, Nyssa, Kinley and Greer were expelled and sent back to their countries of origins. They’ll probably harbor grudges against me for the rest of their lives.

“Don’t worry about that,” said Kam. “you did the right thing. They were in the wrong for trying to make a truly honest person into a criminal.” I looked at Kam and smiled.
“Thanks Kam,” I said. “You, are a true friend, and I’m sorry we had such a terrible falling out.”
“Forget it,” Kam replied. “Hey, why don’t you come back to flight training? Derf and I can help you get back to speed.”
“I’m not sure, Kam. I appreciate the offer, but I’ll have to think about what I would like to do from here.” I said.
“Well,” said Kam. “At least agree to have coffee with me Fridays. We’ll make it a regular thing. I’m proud of you Nik. You did a good thing.”
