The virus creator caught.

Everyone has breathed a sigh of relief, and their wristponders are operational again. The Tosadae security group, working on the list of potential suspects I gave them narrowed down the person broadcasting the virus. His name was Mills Vanderbeck, a disgruntled research assistant apparently tired of having his work gone unnoticed. I guess the Tosadae students are lucky I’m enough of a nerd to notice that it might have been another library-goer.

Vanderbeck was broadcasting a random mutating virus, which is why the wristponders couldn’t be fixed. I suspect the Tosadae security guys are unlikely to go easy on him after that attack at the stadium, which, come to think of it, they still don’t have many leads on.

Grenci passed on a message from the Security group, thanking me for my assistance with the bust.
“I don’t think they wanna meet with ya though,” said Grenci. “They probably a bit miffed you did their job for them.” That was fine with me. I’ve had enough of security guards and cops to last me a good long while.

I went to visit Nkiru, who is apparently getting better. Sometimes I wonder whether she is more of a nerd than I am. She was actually happy they had suspended classes so she wouldn’t fall behind!
