A conversation with Elijah - Part Two

Posted on August 03, 2008 @ 05:25AM

I found a small degree of confidence, this Elijah Cruise scared me, but what he just told me was absurd.

“Where? I died?” I asked defiantly. “Last time I checked I was still alive.”
“Our previous priestess was here when she died. She was very old,” Elijah said, somewhat sadly. “You are the reincarnated priestess of the Hall of Shadows. We have waited eighteen years until we could retrieve you. We had to be sure.” “How can you be sure it is me though?” I asked. This was just far too outlandish for me to wrap my head around.
“Ha!” Elijah laughed. “Do you think your Masta Poe is the only master practitioner of the Visionistic Arts? We had knowledge of them when our Cult began, long before the Great Quakes. The energy of the shadows pours from you. Dying to get out, to be used from our cause. There is no doubt.”

There didn’t seem for me to be a way to talk my way out of this.
“What do you want from me? What am I expected to do?” I seemed to be asking a lot of questions, but wouldn’t you?
“You will resume your role as priestess,” said Cruise. “You will undertake the ritual of fire and light. We will burn your current persona away, and the priestess will emerge. Her dreams will lead us to the remainder of the Gnorbs, her power will allow us to overthrow those already retrieved by others.”
“No! No you can’t do that! What about me? What about my life?” I pleaded with him. “Please!”
“It has been preordained. You will cooperate”
“What if I don’t?” I asked, still unwilling to accept this fate.

“We will kill you. We will wait for a more… willing vessel. It wouldn’t be the first time. We have waited for Centuries. I am sure we can wait another twenty years.”

I am beginning to give up all hope.
