Another encounter.

Something just horrible happened to me today. I’m starting to wonder if I will ever feel safe again.

Grenci was very pleased with the report I gave him on the drug splintron. I felt quite happy to have helped, so I thought it was time to return to my own research. I went to the Archaic Library and continued my investigation of the pre-Great Quakes flora. I found some excellent information, and did not realize how much time had passed.

When I left the library it was already getting dark. I walked off the grounds in the direction of my dorm, and I heard a shuffling behind me. I turned around and saw a man dressed in dark clothes, but I couldn’t see his face. I screamed and he grabbed me, and whispered “We’ve been waiting for you…” but I remembered my self defense. I shoved my elbow hard into his kidney and he grunted and released his grip. I pulled free and drove my knee into his stomach.

I should have stuck around to question him, but I didn’t feel safe unarmed there in the dark. I ran back to my dorm, went straight to my room and burst into tears.

I’ll report the incident to the campus guards tomorrow morning.
