Research into Splintron.Posted on June 13, 2008 @ 12:17AM My Roommate Grenci recently discovered his biological father was working at Tosadae. He’s apparently quite important, and heads up a special professional development unit at Tosadae. Grenci has certain skills, and was asked to join this unit. It’s kind of a like a detective training group. Pretty cool. Today, Grenci asked me if I could get some information for him. Usually, it’s Grenci doing favors for me, so I was quite happy to help him out, it would also take my mind off my paranoia about the Hall of Shadows for a while. Grenci wanted me to find out everything I could about a drug called Splintron. He said that recently a drugs scandal had occurred in one of the Zero-G sports team here on campus. Now the Tosadae administration were concerned that more of the drug would be sold on campus. Grenci thought that if he knew more about it, he might know what to look for in suspects, and to know what questions to ask. I thought it would be quite exciting to help out with an investigation, so after Grenci left, I got straight on the V-Net. First I pulled up the current science pages, as well as the sports news, and blogs. Splintron, it turns out is ismanufactured from the cells donated by splicers with high athletic functions. Underground labs pay big money for this, so appropriate splicers could make a good illegitimate income this way. This drug was originally developed by biochemists as a means to combat sickness and muscle-wasting diseases, or to help splicers whose human biology rejected their splice. Obviously, the drug was eventually seen to be a useful performance enhancer. Known side-effects that can occur from the drug are extreme aggression, but there are also physical effects. Sometimes the splicer cells are too strong, and a person taking Splintron may manifest physical characteristics of the donor splicer. This way, a human with no genetic history of splicing could take on splicer traits. Universal God. I’d better tell Grenci about this. I’m sure it will help. |
