Training and a rude surprise!Posted on November 23, 2008 @ 09:14AM Thank god the wristponder virus is finally over! Turns out Derf’s girl Miro has a few hidden talents, including crime-busting! She figured it out to be some guy who used the same library she does, based on the glyphs the wristponders were projecting when they got infected. Guess it doesn’t always pay to sign your work, huh? Anyway, the security guys went and busted him, and now we don’t have to rely on writing our appointments and stuff down, how archaic, right? Anyway, I had some time on my own today, because Kam was off helping Derf with his project. I decided it would be a good time to drop in on Mister Naseden for some training. He was good about it, and understand when I didn’t turn up. He said he was doing it more for my benefit anyway, because he knew what it was like to have family on Atlantia. I don’t want to sound egotistical, but I’m getting pretty badass now. The aura reading helps, because in hand-to-hand combat, you can tell if someone is about to strike when their aura flashes a fiery ruby red. It’s kind of like a built in combat-analysis if you’re quick enough to pay attention and move at the same time. I’m wondering if next year I should take more combat-oriented courses. I don’t actually do the hand-to-hand class, and I’d probably nail it now. After our session, I left the training hall, and all kinds of confusion seemed to be happening. People were screaming and running, trying to get indoors. Then I saw what the source was. A mature archeop was in the air swooping at anyone near it. How did that get loose?! |
