TeleportationPosted on October 31, 2008 @ 11:57PM I met an interesting guy named Gyoff today when I was leaving my physics class. Science was something I’d never had much interest in, but physics was just like math, which I love (I know, I’m a dork!) and I needed to make up points. Anyway. I don’t know how I got talking to him, but he was a guy in his senior years, and continuing on at Tosadae doing advanced research. I asked him what he was doing, and he told me Teleportation. I was like “People?” and he said yeah. Apparently before the great quakes, the scientists were researching it, and were making some interesting advances, but that they were largely conceptual. There were many different theories involving molecular deconstruction and reassembly, wormholes, and lasers and low temperatures. The type that we have now, molecular teleportation, transmits an objects of molecules along pure ion light. This was what Gyoff was working on. While companies like Global Air were already marketing it commercially, there were still some big problems with it. While some brave souls had already attempted it and survived. There were too many cases where people turned up dead. Like their soul had been left behind or something. Gyoff believed in it’s potential, a lot of people do, but I’d like a little more reassurance before I get my molecules broken down and reassembled somewhere else. |
