Kam's Recovery.

Posted on September 27, 2008 @ 02:35AM

I have continued meditating with Kam, and I have never felt closer to him. As Kam recovers I have been visiting him every day, and we sit together and we focus. I talk him through it, building flight scenarios in his head.

He got better and better at this, until he was talking me through it himself. It got to the point where I felt like I was really there with him flying by his side.

By the time Kam was ready to leave the hospital, he was healthy, and focussed. I made Kam promise me that he wouldn’t overdo it this time, that he would do the appropriate amount of fitness training compared to the simulator sessions. I also threatened to haul his butt to self-defense for his fitness, and to send over Miro and Nkiru to enforce his dietary requirements.

Kam actually agreed to most of it. Maybe it was in part because I was spending more time with him, and he felt he didn’t need to let the tournament consume him. We’d work together, and he’d be great. I’ve felt more balanced than I have in a long time. Pushing Kam away was not good for me at all.
