Kam's dilemma

Posted on July 20, 2008 @ 01:38AM

Kam and I were having coffee after me and 6G had finished a game of Zoccair. Kam has been trying to get him and Derf into some elite flight tournament, and he doesn’t seem to be having much luck.

“Ugh, me and Derf are the best UG-damned pilots in this whole campus. Except maybe that Lazerman kid.”
I looked at him. I thought I’d let him continue. This was kind of amusing. He didn’t seem to notice and carried on.
”...and he seems to be too busy too busy chasing after that girl, which is good for me and Derf, because he is something else.”
He looked at me. I pretended to be concerned. “It pains me to admit, it. But that guy is going to go places. He’ll have an opportunity to excel whenever, but me and Derf need to make names for ourselves early on.”

“You love him…” I said.
Kam looked up, surprised. “What?”
“You have a man-crush on Cole Lazerman.” I teased.
“Guess that puts you out of a job then.” he replied jokingly.
“Oh my!” I squealed, feigning indignation.

Anyway. It turns out the one time Kam actually wants to use his father’s position and prestige to get what he wants, he can’t. I’d really like to help him out, because he has leadership skills and I think he’ll go far in the Politia.

This could be a new project for me.

I like projects.
