A plan for Tonio.

Posted on October 04, 2008 @ 08:16PM

I got more V-Mail from Tonio. Turns out he was keeping in Gniutz’s good graces by doin’ what I told him. He also gave me a bit of spit for having changed my talking style so heavily. I’d been talking different since arriving at Tosadae, mainly because, well, no one else here speaks like they’re from the streets of Covax do they? Also it’s much easier to be accepted when you ‘re can make yourself understood. This was a conscious decision on my part, and if Tonio thinks I’m more refined, that’s his damage. We’re still friends. I still intend to get back to Covax one day and help people there.

Anyway, Tonio was keeping one step ahead of the splicer twins, coming up with information, and providing that essential part of knowing who to talk to and getting things done fast. It also had the second part of keeping people safe who these splicer twins could hurt pretty bad. Tonio felt that he couldn’t keep these two at bay for long, and he asked me if I could think of a way to get rid of them altogether.

We had to set these slow-brained Rhino boys up so bad, that Gniutz would kick them to the curb, and I think I had just the way to do it. Now, Gniutz was bad to the core, and had no respect for anyone except this older splicer man Lan-Fu, who was a crotchety mean old bugger who pretty much raised Gniutz to be the horrible misanthrope he is. What you gotta do, told Tonio, is get these two asshats to work over Lan-Fu. Tell them that he’s holding out on a stash of credits, or he’s got a supply of something or whatever. But don’t tell them directly. Leave them a tip or something. But make it a timed self-deleting message. That way, after they’ve done it, it can’t be traced back to you.

Tonio was going to do it. Lan-Fu was a vicious old guy, and probably wouldn’t get worked over too bad, it would be more of an insult than actual harm to him. But hey, he was the Gniutz before Gniutz was Gniutz, so if he got knocked around a bit, I wouldn’t lose any sleep. I’ll have to wait to see how it works out. Let’s hope Tonio gets it done alright.
