Remote Assistance.Posted on September 27, 2008 @ 04:50AM I replied to Tonio. I told him, that he could count on me, but since I couldn’t get back to Covax for real, he’d have to rely on my advice. I asked what was wrong. He told me that big-old mob boss Gniutz was hiring outside help. Tonio was from the streets, and he was only working for Gniutz because of me. If he got kicked aside now, that was it for him. I didn’t like his chances if he fell out of favor. Now Tonio informs me that Gniutz was hiring splicers. Not just your run-of-the mill, maybe-kinda-sorta human splicers, but the big, bulky heavily animalistic types. Turns out Gniutz had hired two big body-builder splicers with Rhinoceros hides. Twins, Tonio reckoned. Now, Tonio wasn’t in with Gniutz for his brains, that’s for damn sure. This was some tough stuff, and Tonio wasn’t quite sure how to make sure he wasn’t becoming redundant. Where’re these guys from, I asked. He told me that they were imports, from some of the shadier parts of Sangelino. Well, I think I figured it out. Tonio was on the home field. Covax was totally different to San-Gel. He knew the landscape, he knew the people, some of the more useful people he didn’t know, I’d put him in contact. If he played his cards right, and used this knowledge, he’d be invaluable to Gniutz.
I let him know he could call me if he was unsure of how to deal with something. He said he’d do what I recommended. It wasn’t ideal, but it made me feel better to be helping him a little. |
