Autopsy

Jason was out, watching some Zero-G sports hoping he might catch them in the act, or see any side-effects. I was checking out what we had so far, when the results of the murdered technician’s autopsy had come in.

It turned out the guy’s name was Julius Deacon (which I thought was a bit of a grand name for a lowly tech-guy), and he’d been killed, when someone had ruptured one his spinal cord with a needle-like object. An extensive biological investigation had also revealed that he had taken a bad batch of splintron.

Mr. Deacon’s cellular structure was very unstable, it seemed that the drug had attempted to graft the splicer DNA into his system, but his human DNA had rejected it. This thought stopped me cold. Could he have been murdered because he had release a bad batch of drugs into Tosadae?

I called Jason through his wristponder and told him immediately. Then I called Miro to try and get her to investigate what the side-effects might be of this, but I couldn’t get a hold of her, assumed she was just in the Archaic library again where there was no reception.

I arranged to meet Nkiru and told her to look out for anything out of the ordinary in the Zero-G community. Apparently she had told her team about the investigation. This kinda annoyed me, but she seemed to believe in them. I hope this investigation doesn’t get messed up as a result.

I tried to call Miro again a few hours later, but to no response. She’s usually pretty quick to reply. I hope nothing is wrong.
